Spaces are still available on five walks in the sixth Alton Autumn Walking Festival, which runs from October 13 to 19.

On October 13, Walk 1 will be on the theme of Alton’s Lost Railways - North and will be eight miles long at a moderate pace. On the same day, Walk 2 will be a brisk 11 miles between Basingstoke and Alton railway stations.

And on October 18 there are spaces on three walks during which walkers are encouraged to stop and look. These are Walk 13 - Wind and Water: Wildlife of Alton; Walk 14 - Alton Town Guides: Town Walk; and Walk 15 - Regency Pubs and Breweries.
