FOUR Marks and Ropley Scouts have been presented with a cheque from Southampton-based house builders Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

The Four Marks and Ropley Scout group received the money, a cheque for £2,000, as part of the builder’s Community Involvement initiative which sees groups and projects supported in the areas where it has worked.

Jenny Lake, secretary of Four Marks and Ropley Scouts, said: “It is great that Barratt and David Wilson Homes are able to help us toward achieving our long-held ambition to build a new, much needed Scout hut in Four Marks. All of our scouts here will directly benefit from the donation.”

Stuart Goodwill, head of planning at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southampton, who presented the group with the cheque, said: “The Scouts are an excellent cause and we are glad to be able to provide a donation to such a worthwhile, local initiative. I am sure they will be able to put the funds to good use for the overall benefit of the local Scout group and the wider community.”
