The money was raised by 22 businesses in Alton and its surrounding villages which raffled giant Easter eggs and toy lions for the initiative to support children and families who use Bushy Leaze.
They were The Wheatsheaf, The Market Hotel, The White Horse, The Bakers Arms, The Crown, The Eight Bells, the French Horn, The Railway, The White Hart at Holybourne, The Greyfriars at Chawton, The Royal Oak at Lasham, The Three Horseshoes at East Worldham, The Jolly Farmer at Blacknest, The Cast of Comfort at Medstead, The Golden Pheasant at Farringdon, The Binsted Inn, Alton Golf Club, Worldham Golf Club, Chawton Park Bowls Club, Time Hairdressers in Alton, Alton School and Wey Valley Radio (with Specsavers).
Interim headteacher Helen Porter said the money would help improve the centre’s therapies room.
“We are looking to redesign, re-carpet and refurbish the space to make it a much more usable and comfortable area for our children, families and family support service to use,” she said.
“The financial support we are receiving means we can get started before the end of this term and make good progress over the summer break.”
Alton Lions vice-president Moira Baker said: “Alton is so lucky to have a centre like this.
“It provides a happy haven where children and families can receive the help and support they need in a warm, bright and friendly environment.”
