AN intrepid team of 10 people, including the cook, a teacher and eight parents, will be flying high for Wootey Infant School and Wootey Junior School on Saturday in a bid to raise money for the parent teacher association.

These plucky highflyers will be taking on the challenge of a tandem parachute jump, launching themselves from a plane from 13,000 feet at Redlands airfield in Swindon, Wiltshire, harnessed to an instructor – and potentially reaching freefall speeds topping 125mph!

They are hoping to raise at least £2,500 and are looking for donations which will be put toward building an outdoor patio area as well as equipment for the infant school and an interactive whiteboard for the juniors.
