Alton will hold its first Heritage Day at the Alton Assembly Rooms on September 13 between 10am and 3pm as part of the national Heritage Open Days event.
Jane Hurst, an Alton historian, said: “We have invited local clubs, groups, societies and businesses to join in and have a table where they can share their history with everyone.
“The national theme this year is Architecture but we also hope to feature the history of our brewing industry as well.
“Alton has a rich and varied history which we are proud of and that we need to preserve and publicise, while at the same time we are supporting the valuable work that is being done by Dementia-friendly Alton, for whom donations will be very welcome. Refreshments will be available.”
