ANSTEY Park in Alton played host last Thursday to the Alton Girls Primary Schools’ football tournament.

The competition attracted teams from eight of the 11 Alton Primary Cluster schools, who battled it out for the title on Alton Football Club’s state-of-the-art 3G pitch.

The winners were the team from Alton’s Anstey Junior School, with Rowledge second and Andrews Endowed School at Holybourne third.

Other teams competing came from Medstead, Selborne, Chawton, The Butts Alton, and Bentworth.

The competition was run by Alton Primary Cluster PE teacher Leo Maliphant with support from Eggar’s Secondary School, who provided referees and helpers on the day.
