FUN?and a trip down memory lane were the order of the day at an Alton care home.
Opened by town crier Stan Whitcher, the fun afternoon at Borovere coincided with National Care Home Day.
Reisdents of the Borovere Lane care home were joined for lunch by town mayor Dean Phillips while people were encouraged to dress up in the style of their favourite decade to add to the fun.
Care home manager Karen Shepperdson said: “The residents really enjoyed it. I wore a 1920s bathing suit and we also had a Sixties rock chick and a Pink Lady from the film Grease.
“We had a cup cake stall run by Alton Alzheimer Society, the Hat Lady from Alton set her stall up under a gazebo because of the heat, and Canine Partners gave a demonstration with their dogs who are trained to help disabled people.”
While the mayor joined residents for lunch, Kevin Jacot entertained them on the piano.
“We had a lot of singing during the day,” added Karen. “It was all a bit of a laugh and everyone enjoyed it.”
