A BURGLARY in Holybourne left a farmer thousands of pounds out of pocket and the local pond polluted by diesel oil.
Thieves broke into farm buildings off Church Lane and stole a red Land Rover 90, a green Kawasaki KV650 quad bike, a Batesen cattle trailer, numerous Sthil chainsaws, a Major log splitter, and a Briggs and Stratton generator in the raid on November 29.
A fuel storage tank was also damaged resulting in 2,000 litres of diesel leaking out onto the road and into the village pond.
