FOUR Marks Parish Council has denied accusations that one of its members was responsible for a letter in the parish magazine criticising the Street Watch scheme.
The letter, in the June edition of the Four Marks News, asked people to consider whether a group of well-meaning volunteers, who do not have the power of arrest or the power to move people on and who have neither the training nor the equipment to protect themselves against assault or abuse, can take the place of a full-time police officer.
