EIGHT colourful characters descended on Naomi House’s charity shop in Alton on Monday dressed as superheroes, a princess and a convict to raise money for the children’s hospice.

They were employees of Vodafone’s Newbury branch who had fun selling items ranging from cakes to toys, and there was a tombola and tea and coffee, and even the chance to be locked up in the stocks they placed outside the shop.

They had already raised £1,000 for the children’s charity by the time the Herald went to press and Vodafone has promised to match whatever was raised during their day in Alton, during which they brought a lot of amusement to shoppers in the High Street.
