WALKERS – with and without dogs – and their friends enjoyed strolling in the lovely countryside around Kilmeston and Bramdean, near Alresford, to raise more than £600 for family support charity Home-Start Winchester.
The 50 walkers could choose either long or short walks, which began at Kilmeston village hall and which were planned by residents Chris and Marion Robinson.
The countryside was looking at its best with the fresh green of spring bursting through and routes took in parts of the glorious Hinton Ampner estate, which was basking in sunshine.
At the end of the morning’s exercise, hearty ploughman’s lunches were laid on for weary walkers.
“What better way could there be to raise funds for charity?” said Home-Start Winchester chairman Liz Cooper.
“The walk is now a regular part of our fundraising calendar and we are already making plans for next year.”
